The fan housing is secured to the prefabricated roof curb using number 10 self-tapping screws at 6 inches on center around the entire perimeter with a minimum of two screws on each side. The roof curb bears on rigid insulation over a metal deck, which is attached with number 12 sheet metal screws at 12 inches on center on all four sides. A twenty-gauge sheet metal duct extends between 5 and 7 feet and houses a Ruskin CBD2 backdraft damper or equal set at 0.01 inches water gauge static pressure to open. A twenty-gauge duct strap is provided for the duct, with the upper attachment detailed on structural detail 2/S1.34.
