Flexible duct connects to a sheet metal collar using a clamp. The collar feeds into a sheet metal plenum with a half-inch slot that integrates into the gypsum wallboard ceiling system. The plenum is hung directly from the building structure if its weight exceeds twenty pounds. The gypsum wallboard joints are taped and spackled by the general contractor.
