A mechanical duct penetrates a fire-rated partition with a damper assembly centered in the opening. Duct insulation is applied continuously around the exterior of the duct with a maximum six-inch clearance on all sides as specified. Framing angles and mounting hardware secure the duct penetration through the structural opening. Firestop packing and joint sealants seal the perimeter annular space around the damper sleeve.
