Metal bellows-type water hammer arrestors are installed on cold water and hot water mains serving plumbing fixtures in accordance with Plumbing and Drainage Institute standard WH 201. Typical isolation valves are positioned upstream of the arrestors. Access panels are required in walls and non-accessible ceilings to maintain the arrestor units.
