Round and rectangular HVAC ducts are suspended using hanger rods and straps secured with minimum three-eighths-inch bolts and sixteenth-gauge bands. Seismic restraint cables are anchored at forty-five-degree angles to prevent lateral displacement. Maximum spacing dimensions are restricted to thirty-six inches and forty-one inches depending on the configuration. Continuous twentieth-gauge sheet metal is utilized for strap hangers on rectangular ductwork.
