A volume damper is installed inside a rigid ductwork run that transitions to a flexible duct leading to a ceiling diffuser framed into a gypsum board ceiling. A rack and pinion operator connects to the damper via a flexible casing and wire with a maximum length of thirty feet. The operator is housed within a die-cast mounting cup secured above the ceiling and accessed through a removable cover plate using a removable socket wrench. The exact location of the ceiling mounted concealed regulator and cover cap must be coordinated with the architect prior to installation.
