An exhaust fan unit is mounted directly to the top of a roof curb and anchored using three-eighths-inch lag bolts through the side. The fan's duct flange bears on the top of the curb with a continuous seal to prevent moisture infiltration. A gravity backdraft damper is installed inside the curb directly beneath the fan assembly.
