This roof-mounted duct support installation detail utilizes 18-gauge sheet metal wrapped with rigid board insulation and continuous galvanized sheet metal studs. The assembly is anchored with four-inch by four-inch by one-quarter-inch steel plates welded to one-and-a-half-inch by one-and-a-half-inch by one-quarter-inch structural members. Pitch pockets are provided by the mechanical contractor at the roof penetration points with details coordinated through architectural drawings. Fiberboard insulation lines the interior of the duct framing enclosure with a minimum thirty-degree slope configuration.
