An in-line exhaust fan is suspended from overhead building trusses using a combination of threaded steel rods and aircraft cables. The fan housing connects to flexible duct connections at both ends. Four-inch by four-inch by one-eighth-inch steel plates bolt directly to the overhead trusses with two quarter-inch diameter bolts and nuts to anchor the diagonal stability cables. One-eighth-inch diameter seven-by-seven aircraft cables tensioned just enough to remove sag secure the fan laterally with heavy wire rope thimbles and u-bolt clips. Vertical support utilizes mounting clips bolted to the trusses with quarter-inch diameter bolts, washers, and nuts, connecting to half-inch threaded sleeves and half-inch steel rods. Rubber vibration isolators and mounting brackets transfer the load down to the fan casing.
