A pipe passes through a concrete, metal, or wood wall assembly via a pipe sleeve with a quarter-inch to half-inch gap surrounding the pipe. Sealant is applied on each end of the sleeve between the pipe and the sleeve. Continuous pipe insulation is provided for cold pipes, with additional pipe insulation installed as specified. An escutcheon plate is installed where the pipe is exposed on the face of the wall.
