An up-blast roof exhaust fan is mounted on a curb with a one-and-a-half-inch by three-eighth-inch closed-cell neoprene self-adhesive gasket separating the fan housing from the support. The unit is secured using stainless steel truss head screws measuring number ten by one-and-a-half inches minimum and anchored with nails through the roofing and flashing installed by the general contractor. A backdraft damper is located inside the duct drop where specified. A two-inch drip pan soldered all around for watertightness is positioned at the base alongside a flexible duct connection.
