An eight-inch deep sheet metal box connects to an insulated sheet metal elbow via a round neck secured with sheet metal screws. The interior of the box is painted flat black. The assembly is set into a gypsum board ceiling with a minimum of two sheet metal screws per side. A flexible duct of maximum five-foot length attaches to the elbow using a duct strap and a panduit fastener, with mastic applied between the elbow and flex duct. Eighteen-gauge wire seismic restraints are secured to opposite corners of the box and anchored to the ceiling support structure.
