A vertical pipe passes through a concrete floor slab on metal deck, centered within a galvanized pipe sleeve. A one-quarter-inch gap around the perimeter is packed with backer rod and filled with acoustical sealant on both sides. Firestopping material is installed at rated floors on both sides of the assembly. Fiberglass insulation and an optional pipe insulation wrap the pipe. A galvanized floor plate sits on the top of the slab with waterproof caulk applied for waterproof floors.
