A steel pipe is supported on a roof by a pipe stanchion saddle featuring a steel yoke and nut, lined with a two-inch wide by three-quarter-inch thick manufactured waffle-shaped pad. The vertical steel pipe stanchion connects with a complete penetration weld all around and runs down through a twenty-gauge galvanized sheet metal counter-flashing sealed tight with type 304 stainless steel around the band and silicon caulking. The stanchion secures to a steel plate bearing on the concrete roof slab with a minimum of four concrete expansion anchors per plate, utilizing typical nuts and washers. The slab assembly includes provisions for through-bolting and sub-framing as needed for the contractor's design, coordinated with the roofing system shown on the architectural drawings.
