A circuit setter valve is installed in the piping run with specific straight pipe distances maintained upstream and downstream for valid pressure drop readings. The upstream side requires a minimum of seven pipe diameters of straight run, while the downstream side requires a minimum of four pipe diameters. The valve is oriented with the direction of water flow and positioned to provide unobstructed access to the dial indicator and read-out hose attachment.
