A copper or steel pipe riser with rigid joints passes through a concrete floor slab within a pipe sleeve containing a Hiliti top seal plug and three inches above and below of never-seize lubricant matching the pipe material, accompanied by required firesafing material. An eighteen-inch braided stainless steel flex loop is installed in a looped configuration to accommodate pipe growth, matching the pipe pressure rating for the building height. Piping to the slave unit passes through a vertical wall, with penetrations sealed using a flexible fire barrier sealant such as 3M FD 150+ when rated. Piping to the master unit incorporates a slot in the unit cabinet providing five inches of total vertical movement, with the pipe centered in the slot.
