Base-mounted pumps are supported on an inertia base equipped with vibration and seismic isolation resting on a housekeeping pad. A suction diffuser with a support leg and a wye strainer with blowdown connect to the pump suction piping. Pipe reducers and flexible mechanical couplings or braided flexible hoses are installed typically on the piping runs. A check valve is integrated into the discharge piping above the pump.
