A duplex sump pump system is set within a thirty-six by thirty-six by thirty-six inch deep poly basin beneath a floor line. Two pumps, designated SP-one and SP-two, discharge through individual lines equipped with non-slam type full flow check valves, unions, and gate valves before combining into a three-inch discharge pipe. A waterproof junction box connects polyurethane mercury float switches that provide pump activation and high water alarm signals. Stainless steel pull chains and hardware facilitate pump removal, and a two-inch steel angle is embedded in the concrete by the general contractor around the top opening which is covered by a forty-six by forty-six inch open grate.
