A ductwork penetration crosses a building seismic joint with a four-inch movement allowance. Flexible duct connections are installed on both sides of the joint to accommodate relative structural displacement between building walls. Duct support straps are positioned adjacent to the wall openings, and angle collars are secured around the penetrations. A sealed duct connection maintains system integrity across the void space between walls.
