Natural gas piping is suspended using a Unistrut channel assembly positioned above the bottom chord of the supporting bar joists. The gas pipe is secured to the Unistrut with a U-bolt or bar clamp typically spaced at a maximum distance of ten feet. The Unistrut channels run perpendicular to the bar joists to support the piping run.
