Steel angle connections frame into a structural channel and a wide flange steel beam sized per plan. A steel plate measuring one-quarter inch by three and one-half inches by three and one-half inches is welded to the channel using three-sixteenths inch fillet welds and connects with one three-quarter inch diameter ASTM A325-N bolt. A second assembly utilizes a steel plate measuring one-quarter inch by four inches by four inches welded to the beam web with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds and secured with one three-quarter inch diameter ASTM A325-N bolt. Both configurations maintain a one-half inch maximum clearance gap with edge distances dimensioned at one and one-half inches.
