The natural gas piping configuration transitions from the utility company supply into the building service managed by the mechanical contractor. A gas meter connects via a union to a seismic valve followed by a vertical drop featuring a six-inch long dirt leg at the base. A one-inch test plug valve that is capped and lockable is installed on the riser. The piping continues upward with an offset prior to penetrating the exterior wall, with pipe sizing specified per the plans.
