A pipe penetrates a fire-rated concrete floor slab through a pipe sleeve sized one inch larger than the pipe and insulation outside diameter. A specified waterstop seal is set within the slab opening around the penetration. Specific UL-listed fire safing material fills the annular space with a two-inch depth. Uninsulated piping follows a similar fire safing installation in strict accordance with the manufacturer's UL-listed installation instructions.
