This assembly consists of a rigid steel frame housing a spring supported by a neoprene spring cup with a projecting rod isolation bushing. The top of the frame features a minimum one-and-one-quarter inch thick neoprene element with a projecting rod isolation bushing to prevent metal-to-metal contact. A precompression plate with a neoprene washer sits at the base, allowing the threaded rod to swing thirty degrees before contacting the resilient bushing. The hanger is adjusted so the spring sits at the midpoint of the deflection scale under load. Variations include eye bolts at the top and bottom for connection to flat straps or threaded rods.
