Mechanical ductwork is suspended from overhead structural joists using a trapeze assembly constructed from one-and-a-quarter by one-and-a-quarter by three-sixteenth-inch angle iron supports. Half-inch threaded rods drop down from the structural joists and secure the lower trapeze angle supporting the duct. The rods are fastened with half-inch bolts and nuts accompanied by two-inch half-inch washers. Nuts and washers are installed on both sides of the angle typically at connection points.
