The make-up air unit is mounted on an insulated roof curb matching the roof R-value, supported by structural framing below. Intake air enters through a rain hood with screen and an inlet damper, followed in sequence by a vee filter section and an indirect gas-fired heating section. The unit requires electrical interlock of the MAU-1 and EF-5 system with associated Type I hood-mounted motorized fire dampers. A structural saddle, as specified by the architect, supports the intake end of the assembly.
