An interior wall or partition opening is framed on all four sides by the framing contractor to receive a fourteen gauge galvanized steel sleeve with butt welded joints. A one-inch annular space surrounds the pipe for firestopping through fire and smoke barriers, or for an airtight acoustic caulk seal at all other interior partition penetrations. Full thickness insulation with specified jacketing is carried continuously through the sleeve. Escutcheons are provided for piping penetrations exposed to view.
