A roof-mounted sheet metal duct passes through a roof assembly with a prefabricated and insulated curb by the mechanical contractor. The duct extends a minimum of twelve inches above the finished roof and is secured to the curb with screws. Flashing and counter flashing are provided by the general contractor. A flexible waterproof mastic seals the roof penetration at the base of the curb. An enlarged callout circle details the insulation with aluminum jacket and the flashing overlap.
