A centrifugal pump is connected to a suction pipe fitted with a pump suction diffuser, flexible connector, needle gauge valves, and isolation gate or ball valves. The discharge side features a flexible connector, a non-slam check valve, a gate or ball valve for pipe sizes two inches and smaller or a butterfly valve for pipe sizes two-and-one-half inches and larger, and a discharge pipe sized per the drawings. A pressure gauge with a needle valve ties into the system via connections to tappings on the pump body.
