A vertical vent pipe penetrates the roof deck assembly, sealed with oakum packing in the deck opening and a minimum 305 mm (12 inch) stainless steel flashing extending up the pipe. The flashing is secured at its top with a stainless steel clamp and sealed with sealant. The roof deck and roofing membrane terminate at the penetration with a minimum 305 mm (12 inch) clearance dimension, maintaining a 254 mm (10 inch) height above the roof surface for the upper flashing components.
