An insulated HVAC duct assembly features a rotating damper blade supported by a one-half-inch round rod pin spanning between inside and outside end bearings. The duct is surrounded by insulation maintaining a one-half-inch clearance all around, with an insulation stand-off accommodating the control mechanism. Operation is controlled via an exterior handle equipped with a locking quadrant. The damper blade is stiffened as required across the side elevation view.
