An evaporative cooling unit features a 12-inch sump with a bottom sloped to one end by the equipment manufacturer. Six-inch distribution headers supply water with 3/4-inch holes drilled at regular intervals. A pump provided by the manufacturer connects to the sump alongside a 3-inch outlet drain and a 3-inch overflow drain with a trap and roof interceptor. Associated mechanical and plumbing lines include a 12-inch bypass with motorized dampers, Belimo motorized valves programmed by automatic temperature controls for drain and flush cycles, a float valve, a biocide tablet holder, a pressure-reducing valve, and a backflow preventer.
