A galvanized pipe sleeve penetrates a drywall partition framed with metal studs and surfaced with gypsum board. The annular space around the pipe features a one-quarter inch gap filled with acoustical sealant and backer rod on both sides, with fiberglass insulation or firestopping material packed through the core at rated walls. A minimum twenty-two gauge sheet metal angle ring is secured to the sleeve to retain the assembly. Optional pipe insulation continues along the run, and escutcheon plates conceal exposed penetrations on one or both sides where required.
