A rectangular duct is wrapped with fire-rated insulation blankets secured by overlapping layers and banded straps spaced at three-inch intervals. The wrapped duct assembly is supported from below by a structural steel trapeze hanger or angle bracket. Protective outer lagging is tightly fitted around the insulation system. Section A-A details the cross-sectional layering and clearance dimensions around the duct perimeter.
