The cooling tower base is secured to an isolated wide flange beam isolator base using machine bolts and washers sized for Class I, Seismic Zone 4 requirements. This isolator base rests on seismically restrained spring isolators featuring a minimum 2-inch deflection, typically totaling 8 units. A 1-inch thick noise pad sits directly beneath the spring isolator assembly. The entire vibration isolation assembly is supported on a reinforced concrete sleeper. The welded construction wide flange I-beam base layout shows symmetrical 124-inch and 24-inch spacing centers.
