Ceiling-hung equipment is suspended from the overhead structure using vertical support rods connected to horizontal equipment support members. Four seismic wire rope or cable braces extend outward from the corners of the support frame to provide four-way sway bracing. The sway braces are typically installed at a forty-five degree angle in plan view, with vertical angles ranging from thirty to ninety degrees per engineering tables.
