An exposed duct diffuser connection requires a minimum of two duct diameters of straight rigid duct to the inlet of the round diffuser. A duct collar connects the round diffuser to the supply run. A manual volume damper with a seal is installed at the round tap from the supply main as far away from the diffuser as possible. The balancing damper must be located above an accessible ceiling or access panel. The main duct sizing and routing are determined per the floor plans, and all ductwork is constructed per SMACNA duct construction standards.
