An automatic air vent connects directly to the main piping above an air chamber sized equal to two main pipe diameters. The riser transitions through a valve before reaching the air vent body. A one-half-inch drain line extends from the top of the assembly to terminate at a drain with an appropriate air gap. The main pipe sizing at the branch connection requires a diameter two nominal pipe sizes larger than the main pipe, with a two-inch minimum.
MAIN PIPING AUTOMATIC AIR VENT 1/2" PIPING TO DRAIN. TERMINATE AT DRAIN WITH AIR GAP. 2 NPS LARGER THAN MAIN PIPE SIZE - 2" MIN. AIR CHAMBER EQUAL TO 2 MAIN PIPE DIAMETERS. NONE 2 AUTOMATIC AIR VENT
