This assembly connects a rigid, externally insulated sheet metal supply duct to a ceiling diffuser using a flexible duct segment. A volume damper with a locking hand quadrant and standoff handle is installed at the branch connection to the main duct. The flexible duct is strapped at both the inner and outer jackets using plenum-rated straps for return air plenum applications. The flexible duct must match the diffuser size, with lengths maintained within the minimum and maximum limits specified. A wire support secures the flexible duct to the structure above, maintaining a bend radius ratio of r/D greater than 1.5.
