A vertical buffer tank is mounted on a level concrete pad over the finished floor and secured with 3/8-inch diameter Hilti KBTZ expansion anchors with 3-inch embedment. The chilled water loop connects to the tank via piping that includes typical shut-off valves, pressure gauges, and unions. An automatic air vent connection is provided at the top of the tank, and a drain pipe leads to the nearest approved receptor at the base. Supplemental steel support should be provided as required to brace the tank, and all valves must be located for convenient access.
