A rooftop air conditioning unit is secured to a sloping roof curb using a six-inch sixteen-gauge hold-down clip furnished by the unit manufacturer. The clip is fastened to the unit and curb with a minimum of twelve number-ten by one-half-inch self-tapping screws per clip. A sixteen-gauge stiffener is installed as required by the unit manufacturer. A minimum twenty-inch clearance is maintained from the roof surface.
