An expansion tank connects to a boiler system and rests on a three-quarter-inch plywood base supported by a welded angle iron frame constructed from two-and-a-half by two-and-a-half by one-quarter-inch angles. The tank is secured using two-inch by fourteen-gauge sheet metal straps located at two-thirds and one-third of the height, fastened with five-sixteenth-inch diameter lag screws with two-inch embedment or one-quarter-inch diameter expansion anchors with one-quarter-inch embedment, typical of four. The assembly sits inside a sheet metal drain pan with a drain line running to the floor drain.
