A four-inch rigid metal dryer exhaust duct routes vertically inside the wall from the floor level up through the roof assembly. A gooseneck exhaust outlet equipped with a backdraf damper penetrates the roof above. At the lower level, an owner-furnished clothes dryer connects via a flexible exhaust hose into an inverted wye connection on the main vertical duct. A removable lint cleanout cap sits at the base below an eighteen-inch minimum clearance. The total duct length must not exceed fourteen feet, including two ninety-degree elbows, and all interior surfaces must remain smooth.
