A combination fire smoke damper with an actuator penetrates a shaft wall supplying air to a corridor. A single deflection supply grille with opposed blade damper mounts to a fire smoke damper sleeve extending one foot five inches. A connector requires a two-inch sleeve length with a preferred fitting length of six inches and a damper depth of five inches. Actuator clearance requires seven and a quarter inches with an extra two and three-quarter inches for the grille face. A minimum clearance of four inches is maintained between the supply air duct and inside of the shaft wall.
