Wide flange beams connect to a wide flange column web using a moment connection configuration with top and bottom continuity plates matched to the beam flange thickness. Shear plates and bolts connect the beam webs to the column, sized per schedule 2/S601. Continuity plates are required typically at the top and bottom, with specific dimensioning including one and a half inch and two inch clearances. A detail note specifies that certain elements are to be omitted if dimension X is two inches or less.
