This structural steel column base plate detail features a steel column welded to a 1-inch thick base plate, anchored to a concrete foundation by four 1-inch diameter A307 standard hex head bolts. A 2-inch diameter maximum grout hole is provided if required at the center of the plate. The assembly rests on a 2-inch thick non-shrink, high-strength grout layer placed over the top of the foundation. Fillet welds secure the column to the base plate per the indicated sizes and dimensions.
