A cast iron or Schedule 40 pipe sleeve is cast into the concrete exterior wall below the finished grade. A service pipe passes through the sleeve, secured with a mechanical sleeve seal to ensure watertightness. The annular space is packed with insulation and caulked as required. Pipe insulation surrounds the interior run of the pipe, and the flange is located to allow proper clearance for the seals.
