The assembly consists of a ceiling diffuser or return grille connected to a square diffuser neck, which attaches to an insulated plenum box. The plenum box is secured to the diffuser neck with screws and features a 40% free area perforated plate at the inlet centerline. A one-inch wide strap hanger is bolted to the plenum and extends upward to the building structure to relieve strain from the diffuser. Air is supplied via an insulated flexible duct, maximum five feet in length, connected to the plenum using a clamp and a spin-in fitting with a volume damper. The installation requires verifying sufficient ceiling height and ensuring the square diffuser neck matches the project schedules.
