The mechanical pump assembly mounts to an optional inertia base positioned over a three-and-a-half-inch concrete pad. A suction diffuser connects to the pump inlet alongside valving and pressure gauge connections. Valves mount as low as practical while maintaining required straight pipe lengths for balancing valves. The inertia base extends beneath the suction diffuser when specified, with grouting requirements per project specifications.
