This detail applies to all manual volume dampers located above gypsum ceilings, custom acoustical ceiling panels, or otherwise inaccessible areas for linear and square diffusers. A round butterfly damper connects through a flexible duct to a plenum and diffuser above the ceiling line. A cable and wire run from the damper to a rack and pinion operator positioned in a return air slot or flush with the ceiling. A socket wrench engages the operator shaft to control damper adjustment.
